Why I Love Twitter!

I am an information junkie. Infatuation with ideas is what keeps my heart beating. I also love humor. Make me laugh - deep down from the gut, side splitting, face cracking jocularity - and I'm yours forever (probably). Thanks to Twitter, I find myself constantly amused. Sort of like a 20 something male visiting a nude beach for the first time. Concurrently titillated, aroused, curious and mortified.

I love Twitter because it's a never ending source of things that make me go "hmmmmmm". Once upon a time, I thought about starting a blog called Did You Ever Wonder? Twitter did this for me, in 140 characters or less. Now, that's MAGIC!

Confession

Hello, my name is Mary, and I am an addict. I'm addicted to books. I lose sleep, I put off things I should be getting done to read a few more pages, and find myself putting the book down after a few more chapters.

When I know a book is due to arrive in the mail, my heart beats a little bit faster when I see the mail truck. If the book is in the mailbox I dance a little jig. If it's not, I am disappointed.

When I visit people's homes, I am drawn to their bookcases. I stand there, head cocked, scanning titles. I ask to borrow books without even thinking about it. I exclaim over books I've read and start a discussion about them.

It's sick, I know, but I don't know how to stop.

Rare Weekend Post

This is how we cooked dinner tonight - burgers and brats and grilled onions.

Temperature: 5 degrees Fahrenheit
Snow depth: 1 foot














Keep in mind that 10 days ago, my roses in the front garden were still blooming.

It smelled like summer for about 30 minutes in my house tonight. Tomorrow is more seasonal fare with venison stew for supper.
