Terry Pratchett

Author Terry Pratchett has Alzheimer's

Sad, sad news.

As far as I know, the only thing I've ever read of Pratchett's work was Good Omens co-written with Neil Gaiman. Loved it!

This truly is tragic news. It hasn't been a great year for fantasy writers, what with Robert Jordan's recent passing and all the rest.

Oh gosh. I have that very book in the stack to my immediate right as I type. I checked it out of the library several weeks ago and haven't gotten around to it. I'll make an extra special point of doing so now.

Whenever I see this, I'm always filled with a sense of sadness. And it's all over the webs--it makes an impression on me how widespread his influence is, and how loved his books are.
